At the quantum level, all physical materials, whether it be our bodies, plants, rocks, animals, the food we consume, and all that which composes our forests and oceans are composed of atoms. All these atoms consist of a nucleus that contains electrons orbiting around the nucleus. It is quite noteworthy that there is a vast space between an atom’s nucleus and its orbiting electrons. If a nucleus were the size of a pumpkin seed, the electrons' orbit would be as large as a football stadium. So, as a matter of fact, 99.9% of each atom is empty space. Therefore, the majority of all ‘matter’ is actually “empty space”. However, this empty space is not actually empty. Recent research has confirmed that it is filled with energy in the form of waves and quantum fields.
Each of the subatomic particles that make up an atom never stops moving, thus creating its own energy field. This is how subatomic particles hold together to create an atom, which also vibrates within its own field. Atoms are considered the building blocks of all 'matter'. So, any structure, that is made up of atoms also vibrates within its own energy field. This applies to all structures from the smallest to the largest – whether it be a molecule, cell, organ, the human body, a forest, mountain, the earth, our galaxy or the entire universe.
Well, here is where it gets amazing. Ancient civilizations have known about this phenomenon for thousands of years. Thanks to recent discoveries of quantum physics, we are finally coming full circle with what indigenous tribes have passed on for many generations. If it is sound research that is necessary for us to break beyond the limited beliefs of our Newtonian existence, we are entering the new Quantum Age. A paradigm shift that brings into question the belief that we are separate from each other and the world we inhabit.
Although everything is vibrating within its own unique field, all these fields are connected and unified at the quantum level within each atom. Therefore, we and everything around us, are energetically connected through one amazing quantum field of energy, which contains all the other unique energetic fields within it. Quantum physicists call this the Universal Field or Zero-Point Field.
Our bodies produce a variety of different type of energies, including thermal, kinetic and chemical energy as well as sound and light (visible light). Our bodies also produce large amounts of electrical energy. Every cell and organ of our bodies literally pulses with electricity. Each organ, for example, produces a different, measurable frequency (Hz). This electricity generates magnetic and electromagnetic fields, which scientists call Biofields or Bio magnetic Fields. These fields surround every cell and organ, as well as our entire system and extend far beyond our bodies (some energy fields are detectable up to several feet away). It is quite interesting to note that the most powerful field is that of the heart – the heart's electromagnetic field is up to 60 times stronger electrically and up to 100 times stronger magnetically than the electromagnetic field of the brain. These electromagnetic fields provide a 'communication system' not only between cells within our body but they also enable us to interact with other living organisms and other magnetic and electromagnetic fields on our planet.
Our biofields are not only encoded with information, but they also are able relay this information on to our cells, tissue, genes and DNA and directly modify them. Multiple studies have validated their influence on organization and self-regulation of our organism.
Many studies have been conducted using magnetometers and SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) to measure the bio magnetic fields emanating from hands of energy healers, both during in-person healing as well as in distance healing. In some cases, the large frequency-pulsing electromagnetic fields emanating from the hands of these healers are a thousand times stronger that the biofields of a normal person. Astonishingly, fields emitted from the hands of energy therapists were shown to 'sweep' through a range of frequencies. It has been discovered that these frequencies provide essential information to cells and tissue and open channels for the flow of information that stimulates the process of repair. This process is also significant for the prevention and for restoring normal function after trauma. Dramatic changes in electromagnetic fields were also measured around the subjects receiving distant energy healing and within their own biofields. Countless studies now provide evidence for the efficacy of energy healing on our biofields.
Modern science has advanced considerably over the last few decades. Scientists are now able to measure some types of energy that is not visible to the human eye. Conventional medicine commonly utilizes these types of energy in the diagnosis of body disease processes (ultrasound, x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electrocardiograms (EKG), electroencephalograms (EEG), positron emission tomography (PET) scans, etc.). The biofields which are currently measurable are called veritable (tangible) and biofields which scientists are currently not yet able to measure are called putative (subtle).
Scientific discovery and deeper understanding of the nature of health, healing and illness has given rise to a new scientific paradigm –understanding the human body as an interconnected energy system which needs to be treated as a whole.
This understanding of the human body corresponds with the view of many approaches, systems and disciplines, which have existed for thousands of years - Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Tibetan Medicine, Hawaiian Kahuna Tradition, American Indian Practices etc. It also is the foundation of the Osteopathic medical philosophy.

QUANTUM PHYSICS AND ENERGY HEALING
There is an intriguing concept in quantum physics called "quantum entanglement". This principle describes the ability of two physically separate beings to become inextricably linked, which enables them to interact with each other, even when separated by large distances. This concept has been repeatedly demonstrated in countless laboratory experiments.
Although known about for centuries, there are those who are connected to each other on a plane that in the recent past has not been adequately explained by Newtonian physics. As a result, this connection that some of us share has been either ignored or justified on a three-dimensional platform that equates it to the unexplainable. On the spiritual plane, these two bodies share the same soul. They resonate at identical frequencies and can sense what the other is feeling and thinking. The atoms that comprise their physical bodies are inextricably connected through the quantum field.
The principle of entanglement establishes that spatial distance does not affect the connection which enables energetic and informational interaction between two people. In other words, distance is irrelevant in the ability of these entangled beings to effortlessly communicate and share information, whether it be thoughts, physical symptoms, or any information that carries a vibrational frequency. In fact, such quantum entangled beings can positively or negatively affect each other that can manifest on the physical plane. As a prime example, they have the ability to heal each other when one of them is experiencing symptoms in their body or is dealing with psychologic stress.
This also explains how healers can connect to the person receiving healing, gain insight into their situation or condition and transmit healing energy to them, regardless of how far apart they are in the physical world.
In the words of Albert Einstein: “Time and space are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live.”
THE ENTRAINMENT PRINCIPLE
Resonant Entrainment is another quantum physics principle which applies to energy healing. It is a process in which two energy sources that are vibrating at different speeds experience a transfer of energy and therefore start vibrating at the same speed. In other words, one vibration 'entrains' another to match its frequency.
The “entraining” signal could be internal or external. For example, chanting certain mantras results in positive entrainment of certain physiological functions in the body. Examples of external entrainment include the heartbeats of a mother and baby and couples synchronizing with one another when they interact closely; human brain frequencies synchronizing with Schumann Resonances (the Earth's heartbeat); breathing, blood pressure and heart rate naturally synchronizing with the frequency of music; and the simple tuning fork phenomenon – the vibration of a struck tuning fork will transfer through sound waves to another tuning fork and set it in motion, eventually resulting in both vibrating at the same frequency. Entrainment can be found on emotional levels too, such as when a person walks into a room full of people who are laughing and light-hearted and their mood 'magically' lifts to match theirs – because every thought and emotion has its own vibrational frequency.
The principle of entrainment clarifies how the frequency of our biofields, cells, body, thoughts and emotions can change in response to the channeled energy during an energy healing. It also explains the efficacy of the healing power of music and sound, as well as the importance of spending time in nature and in unencumbered silence.
THE POWER OF INTENTION
Intention is a resolve to create a desired reality or outcome. It is a universal creative force capable of energetically imprinting information at the quantum level, thus influencing reality and changing the molecular structure of matter. Intention can create a connection (cause an 'entanglement') through the universal field. The practice of intention involves coherence of the heart and mind, which then harmonizes with the energetic activity of the body to produce a result on the spiritual, energetic, and material levels of the universe. If the intention is charged with emotion, it interacts with the quantum field even more powerfully as the heart produces electromagnetic energy which is much more powerful than the energy of the brain.
Scientists have been aware of their limited understanding of the power of the mind for a very long time. There are several recent studies that now show that our mind is capable of feats previously thought impossible. Many scientists believe that we are now only beginning to comprehend just how powerful our mind is.
The concept of 'mind over body' - the incredible power one's mind has over one's own body - and its vital role in well-being has now become accepted by the general public, as most people are familiar with the power of positive mindset, visualization, hypnotherapy, placebo effect, meditation, thought management etc. The effects of these on one's own body and one's reality has been well researched and documented. However, the research into the power of one's mind influencing physical reality outside of one's body and outside of their own life- that is, using one's mind to positively affect the life of someone else, is breaking new grounds in science.
Growing bodies of research have validated the ability of the mind to influence physical processes and matter. For example, many studies have documented how pure intention can affect the process of random number generators (RNGs). Perhaps the most well-known research of the power of intention is from the Masaru Emoto Research Institute in Japan – they have studied how intention affects water crystallization. Increasing number of clinical studies also provide evidence for the power of intention in energy healing.
Our organism is a system of various interconnected energetic sub-systems. Electromagnetic and quantum interactions among these sub-systems happen through the biofields, which regulate biological processes and enable communication between the body, the emotions and the mind. An energetically coherent system is one that is balanced, orderly and synchronized and therefore capable of efficient transfer of energy (continuous supply and flow of energy is necessary for life). The state of our overall health (physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual) is determined by the level of coherence in our system. When our system becomes energetically coherent, all parts of our system start to function and communicate with a higher degree of harmony and efficiency, an optimal environment is established in which our innate healing and regenerative processes become activated, and we naturally enter a state of enhanced health and well-being.
Disturbances in the coherence of energy patterns and in the transfer and flow of energy can negatively interact with neurological and immunological functions, the secretion of hormones and neurotransmitters, as well as many other regulatory processes. They can disrupt cell-to-cell communication and cause emotional, psychological and physical stress. All of these can lead to illness and disease. These disturbances can be anything that causes disharmony and incoherence in our system, such as negative beliefs, repetitive thoughts, anxiety, fears, any type of trauma (physical, mental or emotional), burdens from toxins and electromagnetic radiation and many others. Such disturbances are stored within the system as discordant energetic patterns (in the form of energy particles, waves and information). When these incoherent energy patterns are exposed to coherent energy patterns, such as in Energy Healing, they are then able to return to their original, coherent, harmonic vibrational state. In Energy Healing, a non-local resonance process is initiated, in which the transmitted coherent energy patterns can have direct, beneficial effect at the cellular level.
Energy Healing not only supports the body and mind in recovering from illness, but it is an incredible tool in the maintenance of existing health and in preventing discordant energy patterns from developing into serious mental, emotional and physical symptoms.
As we continue to advance our knowledge of the potential unlimited capabilities of the Quantum Field, we can recognize that many of us have already become participants, educators and leaders in offering these principles and techniques to those of us who are ready to try it for themselves.
We are truly all connected, and by recognizing our common energy field, we can join the new paradigm that puts us at the front line as participants of this amazing journey into a realm of togetherness…
“When we focus our attention on a thought in a moment of time, we involve our consciousness. In this vast field of consciousness, there are no clear boundaries of where we stop and the rest of the universe begins. When we think in these terms, it becomes clear why intelligent ancient civilizations believed in our connectedness.
As modern day scientists explore what it means to be participants, such evidence points to the inescapable conclusion that we exist in an interactive reality where we change the world around us by changing what happens inside of us.”
Loneliness. It's such a sad affair... Or- is there more to what we perceive in our current existence? The digital world connects us now to just about everything. But, many of us feel more isolated than ever. Perhaps there is a greater purpose that the universe wants to reveal to us. If we take time to reflect on our greater purpose, we may discover a world that has been waiting for us to discover...
When we are experiencing physical aloneness, it is helpful to remember that this does not equate to spiritual solitude. This is the unique opportunity for our soul to connect with the universe- to guide us toward that which many refer to as our true purpose in this lifetime. Put another way, this is when we can connect to our higher selves. We are not escaping from this third-dimensional existence, rather we are delving into the core of our existence.
By going beyond the confines of our daily routine, we allow space for profound change, so that when we emerge, we radiate a positive frequency that emanates from us and become one with the quantum field. We can effortlessly inspire others with the rediscovery of the light that shines within us. If we feel physical loneliness during this spiritual journey, we may have to remind ourselves that we haven’t done anything wrong or are missing out on anything. Being alone on our spiritual journey is crucial. This is when we encounter the essence of our being. We become aware of the echo of our deepest longings; the unspoken dreams that have been whispered in our heart.
Being alone compels us to assume the journey within ourselves. The most important endeavor in life is becoming aware of our internal landscape, because this is where everything originates, as quantum physics has so eloquently revealed to us. When we are alone, we are drawn to seek answers to our problems independently, beyond conditioned patterns. This can be an arduous process as we navigate and release past traumas- constantly working to shift thought patterns. After all, this is not necessarily an easy task, as we essentially are rewiring neural networks within our brain. To create new neuronal connections that originate from positive emotions, far removed from the often-negative banter that has been at the core of our society for most of our lives.
We begin to have a vision of our desired future. Our higher selves have witnessed the depth of our longing for it. It is important to understand that certain experiences must often occur as we begin to explore this unknown territory. As the unknown is not familiar to us, it will feel uncomfortable, and we will often feel the urge to return to old patterns, even though these conditioned habits may not make us happy. A brand-new life necessitates a new environment, a new mindset, a new belief system on a fresh perspective on life. Everything is strange, but rest assured, it is all happening to align with your desires in the midst of our spiritual journey.
For certain, our preexisting beliefs play a significant role in circumnavigating the path to the realization of this desired change. Many of the beliefs we hold regarding our perception of what we refer to as reality comes from peers, spiritual systems and political agendas that have been influential in developing our thought processes. In isolation, we make allowance to become aware of this influence and question why we think the way we do. We were never meant to conform to standards defined by others. This realization is often suppressed during our upbringing, but now we stand alone. Isolation provides us with an opportunity to change everything- to start fresh with a new way of thinking. This transformation is difficult to achieve when we are constantly surrounded by others.
During this solitary spiritual journey, we realize that true love begins with ourselves and radiates outward, in a perfect torus configuration. This love sends out compassion and kindness that can be unconsciously perceived by all others we interact with. Being alone on the spiritual journey is to empower ourselves and accumulate spiritual energy. Many of us unknowingly give away our energy to toxic individuals who drain us, making us feel unworthy. However, through isolation we learn how to reserve and withhold our energy and establish boundaries with toxic relationships. Whether they are our friends, romantic partners, or even our own family, many spiritually inclined individuals feel the need to carry their burden, and in doing so, relinquish their energy to gain acceptance. They became people-pleasers and developed a heightened sensitivity to other energies, turning into empaths.
Yet once we call back our energy and learn to maintain it, regardless of external circumstances, we will truly feel the inner peace of being alone. We learn to be comfortable in our own skin. We shed the masks and personas we assume to conform to other’s standards, embracing our true, authentic self. There is no need to conform or seek other’s approval, for we become free to express ourselves without fear of being adversely judged. In this liberation, we become a beacon of light, inspiring others to embrace their own uniqueness.
There are those individuals who will live their entire lives without experiencing their true spiritual gifts. They will complete this existence with their song lingering within. Such people will not obtain the degree of wisdom that we have come to experience. They will not experience the present moment and all the gifts that are products of connecting to the universal force. Eventually, we will experience the profound emotions that all humans yearn for: unconditional love and liberation from pain. We become grateful for the opportunity to undergo this spiritual awakening in this lifetime. The universe is on our side, and this is all we truly ever need. We ARE the universe. In this light, we become sober to the fact that we were never separate. Separation is an illusion of the mind, fostered by societal influences.
We are alone on this journey to help us understand that we were never truly alone. We may lack physical companionship, but we will no longer feel lonely. There is a special connection we have always possessed. We realize that we don’t need anyone else to feel complete. We will not seek external sources for the feelings and wants we once desired from others. Love will emanate from within because we are love. We will not seek validation because we already validate ourselves. We won’t require anything external to find happiness. Every emotion we seek will be discovered within ourselves. We will realize the immense power that resides within when standing alone. We will become aware of our role as a creator of manifestation. All this profound knowledge reveals itself to us during times of solitude.
Remember that being alone is not a part of loneliness, but a pilgrimage of self discovery and growth. Embrace the transformative power of being alone and honor the divine wisdom that is revealed. It is within this secret space that we discover the true essence of the light that guides us to the boundless love that dwells within.
"Yearning for that which our soul pines for is the gift that is discovered in times of solitude, far removed from the banter of an illusory existence..."
Shortly after waking up on any given morning, our thoughts become inundated with the issues of our daily existence. For most of us, we have work and family obligations, social commitments and the everyday tasks we must attend to. Moreover, our thoughts become entwined with a myriad of worries and fears associated with future plans and expectations. We must also deal with difficulties associated with our relationships, holding onto grudges, and the seemingly endless barrage of rules and regulations imposed upon our society.
Admittedly, it can be tiring and overwhelming to start our day in this manner. For some of us, we may wonder if there is something more to this life experience. Is there something that we are missing? Is this really all there is? With so much negative banter coming from all directions, it is enough to drive many of us into social isolation. Where do we go from here?
Well, what if we could embrace a state of emptiness? Embracing emptiness can be incredibly powerful. When we let go of everything, from the endless mind chatter to the fears that numb us into submission, there is the unique opportunity for a truly magical occurrence. Initially, this might feel quite frightening to our ego because it can feel quite disempowering for the egoic self.
But in the state of peaceful emptiness, we begin to discover our true essence. Pressing the pause button, so to speak, allows us to reconnect to the being we were before all the clutter and distractions filled our minds. Who would we be without the labels society imposed upon us? The truth is, there was a point in time when we weren’t defined by our personal habits and perspectives. Before “they” influenced us, there was a sense of innocence, openness, and a feeling that there were infinite possibilities available to us.
It has been said the usefulness of a container comes from its emptiness. Just as a pit must be empty to be filled, we must disengage the ego from our inner self, with its countless judgments, and the need for validation in order to be truly fulfilled. When we surrender to the need to prove ourselves worthy, we create space for authenticity and love to flow our way. The process of becoming empty, requires us to let go of attachments to ideas, possessions, and toxic relationships. It is a profound act of surrender when we relinquish the desire for control and allow life to flow through us. It is in this surrender that we discover freedom- freedom from the burdens that bind us, and the freedom to align ourselves with the natural rhythms of the universe.
At first, the ego will likely resist this state of emptiness. It will urge us to dwell on future possibilities or past experiences, desperately trying to hold its ground. However, like a frightened child, we must reassure the ego that we are in fact safe, and it’s quite all right to let go of the constant need for validation, recognition and comparison. In this process, we realize that our value is not defined by external measures, but by the depth of our connection to ourselves and others. We must suppress the notions of right and wrong. We embrace complete emptiness.
Imagine ourselves as a newborn opening our eyes for the very first time. We resist the urge to describe or label anything. A newborn infant experiences life without the programming of language. They are an empty vessel experiencing life in all its glory, filling their minds with the innocent joy and peace that opens the door to laughter, freedom and a sense that there are no boundaries to realizing all that their imagination can conjure.
To practice this empty state, we find a quiet and comfortable space, close our eyes and focus our attention on our breath. We allow thoughts to arise and pass without judgment or attachment. Gradually, we gently allow the endless chatter of the mind to drift carelessly into oblivion and enter a state of stillness and spaciousness. We engage fully in each moment, paying attention to our senses and the present experience, whether we are at our jobs, exploring nature’s wonder or engaging in daily routine tasks. We bring full awareness to the activity at hand. This practice helps us let go of unnecessary mental clutter and connects us with the richness of each moment.
Recognize that everything and everyone is impermanent and constantly changing. Allow things to flow and evolve naturally, without clinging or trying to control outcomes. Practice appreciating and enjoying the present moment, without becoming attached to its transient nature. We create intentional moments of silence and stillness in our day.
Dedicate time to simply sit in silence, free from external stimuli. Allow thoughts to settle and surrender to the quiet within. When we achieve emptiness, everything changes. Our sense of identity diminishes. Thoughts diminish in importance and memories fade away. We no longer become caught up in the constant thoughts regarding our life situation. Instead, we enter a state of pure nothingness. It is a deeply loving and peaceful experience. When we enter ourselves, there is no boundary between ourselves and others. We are empty like the sky- blue, beautiful, expansive, and always ready to receive a bird, the wind, a cloud, the sun, the moon or an airplane. It is the emptiness of all limitations and boundaries. It is the realization of endless possibilities. We become the creators of our destiny. We become a vessel for love, compassion and kindness. We see ourselves in others and recognize that their joy is our joy. Our emptiness becomes a source of profound empathy and a catalyst for positive change in the world. In this vast expanse, we find the space to listen to the whispers of our soul, the gentle nudges of intuition and the wisdom of the universe. It is in this moment that we discover the answers we seek. It is in this stillness that we find clarity and guidance.
It is in this moment that we discover the peace and unity that will be a catalyst for others to embrace. We can introduce powerful change for the betterment of all beings that inhabit this earth.
Prana is the Sanskrit word for the cosmic energy that is the essence of our existence. It is the vitality within us. Yoga, Ayurveda, Tantra, as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine, have the same Prana definition. In Chinese philosophy, Prana energy is known as Chi.
The importance is found in the Prana definition itself – Prana is the driving force behind life. It regulates the functioning of our bodies. When Prana energy is flowing freely, we experience a state of positivity, health, and well-being. When Prana is low and blocked, it leads to sickness and even death.
Prana, Nadis and The Seven Chakras
Prana cannot be created nor destroyed. Its nature is to flow. But what is Prana flowing through?
Just like we have a physical body, we also have a ‘subtle energy body’ in which Prana flows through Nadis, channels that resemble nerves. There are thousands of Nadis but three main ones:
Sushumna Nadi is the central and prime channel of Prana flow. It is like the spine of the subtle energy body. It runs from the locations of the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra.
Pingala Nadi represents the masculine, solar, dynamic, and physical aspects of ourselves. It is located at the right of the Sushumna.
Ida Nadi represents the feminine, lunar, relaxed, and mental aspects. It is located at the left of the Sushumna.
The Pingala and Ida Nadis crisscross and intersect each other at the points of the Sushumna. These intersections form the seven main Chakras.
So, the Chakras are simply points of high Prana. When we speak of blockages, hyperactivity or under activeness in Chakras, we are essentially talking about the Prana energy.
Five Types of Prana Energy: Vayus
1. Prana Vayu
Concentrated in the head and heart regions, it’s the primary force of energy. It governs inward as well as upward movements. It is responsible for the way we receive everything: thoughts, food, information, and the air we breathe.
2. Apana Vayu
Located at the tailbone, Apana Vayu governs movement in downward and outward directions – elimination, detoxification, menstruation, childbirth, and ejaculation. On the mental level, it relates to releasing negativity and being grounded.
3. Vyana Vayu
Vyana Vayu flows throughout the body from the center to the outside. It is responsible for circulation in every way – blood, oxygen, emotions, nutrients, and thoughts. It also governs expansive of life force energy outside the body.
4. Samana Vayu
Opposite to Vyana, Samana flows from the outside body’s boundaries towards the navel center. Its functions involve processing and digestion of emotions, information, food, thoughts, and experiences. When out of balance, we face problems in processing our life experiences and food.
5. Udana Vayu
Situated at the throat, Udana Vayu governs upward movements in the body and mind. It is responsible for physical as well as mental growth. It also relates to expression, communication, and setting as well as reaching goals.
